Fashion trends come and go. But sometimes they don’t stay gone. A trend that has been dead for years can come back stronger than ever, enchanting a whole new generation of consumers.

Today there’s a resurgence of ’90s trends. While not all of those iconic looks are making a comeback, some of the more memorable ones are, and they’ve even made it all the way to the run-walk

Slip Dresses

Slip dresses were all the rage back in the ’90s, but they also started seeing a spike once again in 2020. The trend has grown stronger than ever in 2021, though the accents have changed. Slip dresses are now accompanied by lots of layers, with shirts such as turtlenecks underneath.

Sheer Dress

While on the subject of dress, there’s one other ’90s dress trend that is making a comeback. The sheer dress. This is a look that was made iconic by the stars that wore it, and now it’s back on the runway.

Sweater Vests

Sweater vests were huge in the ’80s and managed to hold on during the ’90s as well. Now it seems that this trend is also coming back, thanks to the versatility of design. Sweater vests go with many different outfit combinations. Thanks to PH5 and Jason Wu (among others) for helping to bring this trend back to life.

Graphic Tees

For some, the graphic tee never went out of style. Yet there’s no arguing that they’ve become more popular as of late. The tees that are currently trending have more of that ’90s aesthetic, giving off a vintage vibe. Trendy graphic tees go wonderfully with a jacket and a pair of jeans – or really any other combination.

Claw Clips

Who can forget the hair clip obsession born in the ’90s? Claw clips are one of several hair accessories that are making a comeback in 2021, thanks to their trending presence on social media. Other hair accessories include thick headbands, scrunchies, and bandanas.

Baggy Clothes

Admittedly, the preference towards oversized clothing has been back for more than a year, but the trend is still growing. It was a top fashion in the ’90s and included oversized sweaters, hoodies, t-shirts, and more.

Cat-Eye Sunglasses

Exaggerated frames seem to always be the popular trend for sunglasses. Now it is time for the cat-eye shape to shine once again. This is a style that was very popular in the ’90s, but they’ve taken a more modern approach in their recent popularity.
